It’s the worst kept secret that I used to be a competitive lumberjack in college. Hanging out with a bunch of burly, rough, backwoods lumberjack types taught me a lot, from how to weild an axe with some grace (meaning I didn’t chop off any toes), to how to love red beer.

One night, on a typical Thursday night out, we all loaded up and went across the border to Idaho, which was 8 miles from my university, to a cinderblock built bar on the outskirts of town, and there it happened – I was introduced to red beer.
It looked utterly frightening, beer mixed with V8, but from then on it’s been one of my favorites in my beer drinking repertoire. This smokey and spicy Mexican Red Beer, is loaded with fresh cilantro for freshness, Chipotle Tabasco for that smokiness that we all love. And do not forget the lime!
Ben and I loved this with Pacifico, it’s our favorite Mexican beer. Be sure to give this a try for your spring holidays. It’s fresh, spicy, zesty and fun. Make it in a pitcher for a crowd!

I need this RIGHT NOW! I’m fighting off a major cold. I think this is what will cure me!
I am obsessed with this!! And something tells me it’s going to beat the creepy bud light version of this I once tried..Â
Ooh I love these! They go so good with tacos or burritos. You can order them as ‘micheladas’ in Mexican restaurants. I’ve traditiinally made these with Clamato. Will try this with V8. And chipotle Tabasco sauce?! Yes please!
I’m going to have to say that this is definitely a new one for me. Â Yet, I’m so intrigued that I need to try it out.
I am definitely adding this as an option to our annual Easter bloody mary bar.
Trying this ASAP, I know my husband will love it!
So scary at first right?? But then you take a drink and…heaven.
This looks so amazing, Megan. I totally need it at brunch – or dinner. Or snack-time. Or breakfast. What I’m trying to say is, I’m hopelessly in love with this and need it constantly, starting right now.Â
My husband drank these all the time when we first met but it wasn’t nearly as dressed up as yours.. It was just beer and V8. We will have to revisit these with the cilantro and hot sauce! Yum!Â
Yes, totally give them a go with the cilantro and hot sauce – and the husband will love them, too!
This has to be the most refreshing summer beverage!Â
This would be a perfect weekend at the lake drink!
