A healthy snack made with fresh fruits of the summer season. Raspberry Peach Swirl Fruit Leather is perfect for school snacks and summer treats.
It’s nearly that time of year again, you can just smell the pencil shavings and crayons can’t you? I, for one, really miss back to school time – of course, not the costs of it, but the anticipation of the new year, and getting all of the new school supplies, new colors of highlighters in obnoxious colors and color coordinating my peachies to match the theme of my new school year, or my spirit animal for the year. More often than not the theme was “horses” because I am a self proclaimed horse nut. There was that junior year phase that I was all about hot rods and classic cars – hello, 66′ Chevy II, you were going to be mine. For all those years of school, I was active – playing volleyball, riding horses, hitting softballs, and never stopping to think about what I was fueling my body with. I would burn off whatever I consumed, so it never really mattered to me what I was putting in my body – but it should have. And now as an adult, I wish I’d had those healthier habits to keep me more mindful as an adult. Lord only knows all those cookies don’t get burned off nearly as easily as they did when I was a kid and teenager!!
I wish that I was as conscious of what I was consuming then as I am now. It is more important now than ever to have firmly established healthy eating and exercise habits in place and make them part of your daily routine. Ben and I might not have K-words (kids) now, but making these habits a second nature now will ensure I can pass o my healthiest habits to my future imaginary kids when they do come along!
Kids today face enough challenges in their daily lives- they are busier than ever, pulled in so many different directions – from school to sports, to social media and Justin Beaver (I got that right, right?), often time it can be hard to fit in nutritious meals and plenty of exercise. But with 12.5 million kids in the U.S. being obese or overweight, and with the obesity rate amongst teens TRIPLING in the last 30 years – we are in crisis mode! Those statistics are alarming, to say the least.

Description
A healthy snack made with fresh fruits of the summer season. Raspberry Peach Swirl Fruit Leather is perfect for school snacks and summer treats.
Ingredients
- 4–5 Large Ripe Peaches
- 1 cup Raspberry
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
Instructions
- Rinse and dry fruit. Remove skin and pits from peaches. Chop peaches.
- Place peaches in the food processor and pulse until smooth puree.
- Pour the puree into a sauce pan and 1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice. Bring to a boil and let the fruit cook down for about 15 minutes. It will become thickened and like syrup. Remove from the stove.
- Repeat the process with the raspberries. Once the raspberries are pureed, push them through a fine mesh strainer to remove the seeds.
- Press the raspberry juice/puree into a small sauce pan, add in lemon juice, and sugar to taste. Bring to a boil, and allow to thicken like the peach puree. Remove from heat after 10-15 minutes and allow to cool.
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with heat-safe (microwave safe) plastic wrap. Pour the peach puree into the baking sheet and spread out evenly. Next, spoon the raspberry puree into small dollops into the peach puree. Run a spoon through the purees to combine them and create a swirl look.
- Place the baking sheet into an oven heated to 140 degrees. Let the leather sit in the oven for 8 hours or over night until it is dry to the touch in the center.
- Remove from oven and gently pull away from the plastic wrap. Cut into slices or squares and roll up with parchment paper. Keep in an airtight container for later.
*Note* Thank you to All Clad and A Healthier America for sponsoring the giveaways hosted for this campaign, I was not compensated for this post and recieved no product. It’s just something I believe in. Over and out.
cutting down on mindless snacking!
The raspberry swirl in this fruit leather is fantastic! And I remember doodling horses all over my notebooks in middle school. Such good memories. 😀
Loving the sound of this snack! Yum!!
This looks amazing! I absolutely love Fruit Rolls Ups but the ingredient list isn’t so appetizing. Love that you can make these at home!
And agreed with the being more aware of what you eat thing. I still have problems with that today!
My kids love fruit leather. This is a perfect healthy snack for them!
These sound awesome, definitely want to try with Blueberries!
The raspberry swirl is out of this world! So pretty!

I’m going to try to get my daughter to eat more veggies.

When my son gets a little older and can chew a little better I’m totally making this fruit leather!! So dang creative!!!!
Those seriously are perfect for school! Pinning it!
Drink more water.
I’m going to continue my efforts from the last few weeks to make 90% of our meals at home using fresh, organic (when possible!) produce and meat, and as few processed foods/ingredients as I can.
Adding more fresh fruits and veggies to our meals. Thanks!
Is there a certain brand of heat-safe plastic wrap you buy? I’ve never seen/heard of that before.
I have never made anything quite like this before. I need to because my kids always buy this at Trader Joe’s. They would love to make their own 🙂
I keep meaning to try homemade fruit leather, I love this mixed fruit version – so pretty too!

Hand it over lady!!!
Amazing! And as a 5th grade teacher, I love this cause for healthier kid-friendly eats!
Thank you for sharing! My sister and I where just talking about fruit leather last night. She really wanted to know how to make it!!! I sent her a link to your post 🙂
We have switched to organic milk/dairy for some health concerns
This looks so yummy. How long do you think that they can last in a container. I might want to make a double batch while the fruit is still ripe and in season.
healthier snacks and increase physical activity
I am a family of one, with no kids or husband so what I plan to do for myself it to make sure I pack healthier snacks to bring to work instead of eating candy and cookies.
This is AWESOME!!! I really need to get on the fruit leather band wagon! And P.S. Happy one year anniversary! I hope Ben and you had a fantastic weekend celebrating!
Cutting down on the sugar and eating more fish! I am also going to try eating a vegetarian dish at least once a week… Hopefully that lasts…
this is SO amazing. i love that you made this a raspberry peach swirl! two of my fav flavors!
I don’t think I’ve seen fruit leather swirled before, I just love it!
Smaller portions, double the veggies and fruits, less protein, less “starchy” items.
Swap ingredients out in recipes to make the dishes healthier! Take out more fat, add in more protein to meals.
Trying to incorporate more vegetarian dishes and cut down on carbs!
Great cause to bring attention to, Megan. It’s so important!
Love the flavors you chose for this fruit leather. So pretty too!
I am making smoothies for my kids to try and get more vegetables in them.
I’m going to be using more whole foods and less processed.
Fruit leather rolls up are my favorite but I never thought about making my own. I’ll have to give this recipe a try.
Shut the front door you can make fruit leather at home?! I loved fruit leather as a kid but yours is by far prettier than I have ever seen. Love reading all of these posts, such a great cause you guys are bringing attention to.
Fruit leathers are so fun to make! Even though I don’t have kids yet, I am trying to be better about packing lunches at least 4 days a week for work. I got in a habit of just buying things and not only is it more costly, but not as healthy!
We’re going to cut down on sugar.
My kids were crazy for this stuff when they were little. Love the peach raspberry combo!

We’re going to try to incorporate more vegetables with breakfast.
This looks amazing! Thank you!
Healthy change for the “School year” – I don’t have any family members in school. But I am trying to get my boyfriend to eat healthier. One thing I am starting is menu planning ahead of time, and incorporating lots of healthy veggies.
We’re going to start eating fish 6x a month.
Going to drink more water.
Cut back on cheeses, sugars, and processed meats and carbs, eat more vegetables and whole grains, and engage in physical activity once a week (e.g. like going to the park).
Cut back on the snacks!
I have done this several times…. my kids love it!
Just found this great blog. Love that you have a little contest going 🙂
This year for my kids lunches …no sugary drinks only water. No white bread only whole wheat.
These fruit leather snacks are so creative never thought about making my own.
might try this with my newly-bought dehydrator, awesome!
I’m going to drink more water and eat more raw veggies 🙂
Can’t wait to try this for my daughter!!! I love homemade snack ideas!!!
Ohhh I hope she likes it Erin!! Xoxo!!
I am going to try to incorporate more fresh fruits and veggies into our diet.
We are going to work on buying as much fresh veggies as possible. Cutting out some carbs and sugar and drink more water.
I’m focusing on prepping things ahead of time so there’s always something healthy to grab when we’re on the go.
Prep prep prep. Also drinking 8 to 10 oz of water per day.
We are going to try adding more whole grains!
I am continuing my efforts to get my son (a very picky eater) to try what is set in front of him. I’ve found one vegetable he will eat, and will keep at it to expand his diet.
I don’t have kids, but I’ve definitely been trying to cook more and plan to keep trying to cook in more.
More fresh fruits and vegetables. We don’t have kids but I start a new job Tuesday and would love this set to help get dinner on the table!
Fruit is so expensive in Hawai’i – I don’t know if I could afford this recipe. 🙂 But I do enjoy a good fruit leather. I’ll have to watch for sales… 🙂
Yummy!! Might just have to try! And it’s pretty too!
I want to make more of our snacks at home instead of purchasing highly-processed ones.

how do you get the puree to smooth out evenly — or does it not need to be perfect, it will flatten out in the oveN?
It definitely doesn’t need to be perfect! The fiber in the fruit will make it looks slightly textured, but it shouldn’t be lumpy.
