My Kitchen – The Heart of My Home
As a food blogger, the most cliché thing I could ever say is that my favorite room in the house is my kitchen. I love each room in my house for all very different reasons, but my kitchen is my favorite because it’s the heart of my home. Have you ever noticed that every time you have a dinner party, everyone congregates in or near the kitchen? It could be the tiniest kitchen known to man – like yours’ truly, or it could be an expansive and impressive space, with friends leaning against the island laughing and swilling a glass of wine, and launching themselves across the way for the last canapés on the board. It’s the natural spot to be, and where I feel most comfortable.

GE Appliances has launched a new documentary series called Our American Kitchen, which explores the unique roles that the kitchen plays in the life of American families. We are all different, with diverse histories and cultures, and yet the kitchen remains at the heart of our experience at home and where families connect, cook, and celebrate. You can view the short documentary film about Chase’s Cooking Show here and the film about The Richards Family here.

The American kitchen means one that is gets lots of use and has conveniences (it’s the American way!). It’s pretty and dirty all at the same time.Â
The American kitchen is the heart of the home. It is where people come to gather to celebrate, to mourn, to laugh, to cry, to spend time together. It’s where people not only share a meal, but memories.
The American Kitchen is where communities, families, and friends are brought together to enjoy the wonders of home cooked meals. The American Kitchen is so often underutilized and should be taken more seriously. Say bye bye to frequenting the takeout and restaurant options so often and jump back into your kitchen!
To me, the American kitchen is about friends and family getting together. Â Its where everyone ends up and spends time together. Â Its also where everyTHING ends up…and that’s what life is about. Â Homework, discussions, food, family, love and being together. Â Â
The American Kitchen is where you can pour your heart and soul into creating something special for all the wonderful people in your life! It truly is the heart of the home. Where people gather to laugh, cry, talk and just spend time together.
My kitchen is the heart of my home. It is where I feel I make my family know just how much I love them! We gather there to share our lives and our love for one another!Â
My American Kitchen  is a place where family and friends gather to create memories…wonderful smells, delicious food, great people. Â
the american kitchen means a table full of family and friends with a hodge podge of delicious pot luck style food! Â thanks for the chance to win! <3
The American Kitchen to me is like the heart of the home. It is where meals are made with love and care. It is also where family can come together to work and share in laughter and brings back memories from when you were little and cooked with your mom or other adult.Â
The American Kitchen is a place of creativity and activity. Always the busiest room in the house!
The American kitchen is truly the heart and soul of the house. Â It is where families can gather and relax. Â The way to everyone’s heart is through their stomach, so those heartwarming meals all begin in the kitchen!
The American Kitchen is the place where ‘home’ is made.  It is the  first place we all gravitate to upon coming home and where you will find the pulse of  family life, shared together, beating strong.
An American Kitchen is the place where family and friends hang out. Where memories and recipes are created. It is the place to be.
To me, an American kitchen is the place to connect. It’s amazing the connections you can make with people and the stories you’ll hear all because of what’s made in the kitchen. The kitchen, and everything done in the kitchen, really brings people together.
To me, American Kitchen means sharing happy times with family!

My thanks to you and GE for raising the question of what an American Kitchen means. It’s a great question. For me, I’d have to say the American Kitchen is about aromas and tastes that spark fond memories. It’s brings to mind the sharing of recipes from around the world and spanning generations, bustling holiday gatherings, nighttime snacks, bountiful breakfasts. Homemade memories. Cheers, Ardith
To me, the American Kitchen refers to the heart of every home. Families all over America gather together, share great food, cook together, entertain friends and family, work on homework with their kids, and so much more every single day right in the kitchen. American Kitchen=Love.
Thanks for the chance to win!

So, so true!! Thanks Gina!!
The American kitchen is the rock in my home. It’s where my 80 year old Nana sit, chat and spend a lot of time together. It’s a place where we share special moments and even more special food and recipes from her mother. We laugh, cry and even try recipes that we might not always like. My American kitchen is special because it’s where I have grown up.. from now it only gets better as I re-decorate and add a bit of my own love in it!
That is absolutely wonderful, Starla!! I love this story of your Nana. 🙂

The American kitchen means the place where family and friends get together, at the end of a long day or holidays/events, to relax and enjoy meals and conversation. The favorite place to hang out in the house.

it means something that runs smoothly and seamlessly to help me get through the day
It means a place of love. A place where the food that nourishes the body is prepared. A place where the best of the family conversations are held.Â

The American Kitchen is a place where memories are made, where stories are shared, and where love is reinforced. Food has always been a central feature complementing the most important events in life (holidays, weddings, birthdays, etc). This makes the American Kitchen a central feature of American life as well.

My American Kitchen is where our family has gathered to share meals and to talk about the good and bad of the day. We cooked together, finished homework and played games. It’s truly the heart of our home.

The kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s where the family comes together. It’s where dinner is made, kids learn to cook, lunches are prepped, Christmas cookies are baked, and family and friends come together!

The kitchen is the meeting place in our home for our family. It’s where the kids plop down after school for snacks and homework. A home cooked dinner takes place just about every night in our kitchen, that’s the way I was brought up and I feel its an important part of being a family!

The kitchen is the place where our family gathers for conversation and nourishment over a wonderful meal that we prepared together.
My kitchen doesn’t get used as much as it should. Â When I was a kid, the kitchen was the place where all good things happened and all family time took place. Â It was where I did my homework and celebrated all things special. Â This is not the case as much anymore.Â
to me, the American kitchen means a place where I look forward to spending quality time with my family- where we sit together,
converse & enjoy a meal or even cook together #SweepstakesEntry

I feel the American Kitchen is the most important room in a house for the family as
it is where we all grow. Not just growing from eating nutritious food prepared in the kitchen
but growing (closer) as a family & individuals as we come together to eat, relax, converse & work on projects.
