Ladies, there are times when marriage comes easy – it’s still a lesson I am learning, but the key I am learning is that it’s good to acknowledge when your husband is right… like when you say you will puppy sit for a week and it will all be okay and that you can totally fit a second dog into your two bedroom apartment! No problem hunny, it’ll be GREAT!
It was great, and now that the bonus pup is gone I’m having a serious case of the sads that she isn’t here, but I know now that Ben was right. Sigh. For everything that we tried to do to make sure Huck was still the top dog in the house, Ms. Maeby still ruled the roost and Huck just gave in every single time. I tried to tell him to grow a pair, then I remembered that I got him fixed at 6 months old… Sorry dude, mom hamstringed ya there. But having a small, cuddly dog around the house was a blast, and Huck having his best puppy friend around 24/7 filled my heart with joy. Now we begin the readjustment to being a one dog household.

And I’m eating my feelings.
Maeby wasted no time making our home her home for the week, which is what I had hoped would happen. She always feels the need to be touching people – or know where you are, like in the bathroom, on the toilet. Which is definitely disconcerting when you hear this tiny face bonk the bathroom door first thing in the morning. Or when she slithers under the covers when Ben gets up in the middle of the night, only to turn from 30 pounds of dog into 85 pounds of dead weight when you try to move her.
Me not laughing wasn’t an option – and poor Ben had to DRAG the poor snuggly dog back out from under the covers.

But for all the adjustments, she was a perfect new houseguest – and Huck and I loved having her. I still can’t wait for another dog, but I know that Ben is right – another dog just can’t be right now. If you need a puppsitter though – I’m your gal!!

I’m sooo with you, I’ve been trying to conince my husband to get another dog for a while now, and it’s always met with a big fat NO. Sad. I guess sometimes husbands are right, unfortunately. I guess we’ll both have to drown our sorrow in these biscuits, right? 🙂
We have been trying to decide what the heck to get for dog numero uno!! Boys are so picky!! Sigh. Pass me the carbs, pa-lease?
Can you believe I’ve never made biscuits?! You’re making me want to change that right away 😉
Yay! Finally an easy and straightforward buttermilk biscuit recipe. I’ve been craving buttermilk biscuits ever since the weather has been inching closer to Fall-like. These with a big pot of soup? Heaven!
I’m such a sucker for puppies, well any baby animal actually. If I didn’t have my husband I’d probably have about 10 pets! These herb buttermilk biscuits look so good and I love that they are drop style, nice and easy!
Nothing sounds better to me today than these, they look incredible!
I could eat a dozen of these!
Ha! We can’t have any dogs in the house right now (the little one doesn’t know the meaning of “gentle” yet when it comes to pets :)), but I love pup-sitting! Even more, though, I love these biscuits. SO much yum!
Buttermilk biscuits are a favorite of mine. I probably make them once a week. But I don’t put fun stuff like herbs in them as much as I should. These would be awesome with a bowl of soup!
puppppppies!!!! Sorry, ADD kicks in when there are dogs involved. As much as I hate to admit it, sometimes husbands are right. A very few sometimes but, ugh, it does happen 😉
I know exactly how you feel! I was dogsitting for my neighbor once, and I absolutely loved having her around, even though I know I’m in no position to have a dog around the apartment. Maybe some day, right?
Love all the herbs you got going on in the biscuits!
It’s so simpler than I thought and it tastes so good too. This’s such a cool recipe. Thanks so much.
These are completely my kind of biscuits. LOVE the buttermilk and the herby yum!
These biscuits would amp up any fall meal, so delicious! We have a puppy and holy smokes, she is a bundle of trouble! I can’t even imagine how it is in an apartment!
Oh yes, soup season is upon us!! Let’s bake biscuits!! Especially for those hungry contractors at the log cabin!! I am loving the progress posts!!
Awesome, it looks so sweet. I love this biscuit and will surely try your recipe. Thank you so much for sharing this!
I tried the recipe, it was awesome. Everyone loved it and I am glad I tried it.
