Dish Count :: 1 Grill, 1 Bowl, 1 Cutting Board

One of my latest projects is going to require me to do a whole lot more eating. Normally I would be jumping up and down here, but as I never really go rid of my sweater body from this past winter, I really need to knuckle down on getting what I can out of my summer bod (lololol) while I can. I tried and epically failed at the whole Whole30 thing a few months ago – wine is sooo good! – and now that my best friend is on that bandwagon, I’m feeling some third tier guilt that I’m basically eating everything that she can’t. That’s what friends are for…
Oh, don’t worry I’ve been good, and I’ve been hitting the gym. And trust me, I’m not one of those pretty work out people. I’m definitely a Robin Scherbatsky type of girl worker-outter. Ben is a lucky man.
But in the mean time, I’m trying to up the veggie intake to hopefully appease the work out gods, and my jeans.

Of course to Ben there is no such thing as too many veggies. And as per usual he says we are lacking in that department. These definitely appeased him as well. And I snarffed them down in about five minutes flat. I’ve been hearing about the glory of harissa from Climbing Grier Mountain, for like AGES, so I had to get a jar for myself to see what all the fuss was about.

Description
Fire up the grill for a super healthy way to enjoy your summer veggies! These grilled green beans with harissa are Whole30, paleo, and vegan friendly.
Ingredients
- 1 – 1 1/2 pounds fresh whole Green Beans, ends trimmed
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 3 Tbsp Harissa Sauce, such as Mina
Instructions
- Preheat grill to 350-400 degrees. While heating, trim stem ends of the green beans. Rinse and pat dry with paper towels.
- Add beans to a bowl, and toss to coat with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
- Line up green beans on the grill grates, perpendicular to the grates, so they don’t fall through. *Some may inevitably.* If you have a grilling vegetable basket, use that.
- Grill the beans until blistered on each side, about 3 minutes. Gently turn over and repeat until all sides are blistered.
- Remove and place back into bowl. Toss to coat with harissa sauce. Use more or less depending on your taste. I used the “mild” harissa.
- Serve immediately!
Anything with harissa is my jam! Love these!
We love your recipe! We cook with Harissa often! It is such a spicy treat! We’ve never thought of adding it to green beans though! What a great idea! Thank you!

This is timely. I’ve been getting a ton of green beans in my CSA basket and I have been running out of ideas!
Bahaha – I think we probably are the same when we work out then. I’ve got a jar of this same harissa in the fridge and I’m definitely making these for dinner tonight!
This is so how I’m preparing my next batch of green beans!
