I love going on vacation, but I really love coming home. Usually I am greeted with smiles, a kiss or two and a wagging tail. And I got all those, until I didn’t. Why? Well, it’s because as soon as I came home I went into mom-mode with Huck. Huck has allergies. Yup. What could a dog be allergic to? Let me list the ways…

Huck’s allergies presented themselves when he was a puppy with terrible goopy ears that just wouldn’t stay clean. Then his paws were giving him issues. He was always scratching his chin on the carpet and the ears – well, five rounds of different ear meds didn’t help – so I took him to the doggie dermatologist. Yes, those do exist! With a pink shaved belly, pricked with 50 allergens, we found out that Huck is allergic to just about everything. Including himself. Grasses? Five types. Trees, four. Feathers? Oh yeah! (Don’t get me started on a bird dog being allergic to feathers…) and then dust. Dust? You mean the dust that is created in our house due to a 90 pound labrador? Yuparooni! Huck is allergic to himself.

So after having come home to a few kisses, wags of the tail and some butt rubs – for the dog, not Ben – it was time to go into mommy mode and clean the ears that had flared up in the three days I had been gone.
And he has been avoiding me ever since. Saddest doggie mama face, EVAHHH!

Can you believe I’ve yet to try a Dutch baby pancake?! I really need to, especially after seeing this one!!
Pinning this one – I cant believe how easy this seems. And it looks amazing!

Poor Huck but he will be feeling better in no time. Love these beautiful pancakes .
What beautiful photos! The last time I made a dutch baby pancake it didn’t go so well, but this looks so good I will have to try again!
I wonder if you fed Huck this Dutch baby pancake his allergies would disappear? Just a thought. P.S. Miss your face!!!
This looks so yummy!
My Lab has allergies too, I believe. He’s constantly having ear infections, poor guy.
Okay, this would be PERFECT with the homemade strawberry jam I just made. In fact, I should send you a jar for your next Dutch Baby. Speaking of babies, please give The Huckster ear scratches for me. Poor kid.
Aww I love hearing about you in mom mode!! I want to live inside of this pancake.
That sounds like my best friend’s dog, her poor puppy is allergic to just about everything under the sun! I feel for your furry baby.
Love these babies! I’ve yet to make a dutch baby, what am I waiting for???!
Awwww…that is so sad! You sound like a very good pup momma though. I love dutch babies, especially for feeding a crowd! Adding this one to my brunch repertoire.
I grew up on these and I will forever love them! This is gorgeous!
And here I thought I was the only proud owner of a highly allergic dog. I have to clean the ears once a week. Feed him Zyrtec every day. Dab hydrocortizone on his itchy wounds. I feel bad for both of them. A fast and easy Dutch baby sounds and looks perfect.
Awwww I hope Huck feels better soon!! This Dutch baby is killing me! I’ve still never made one and I need to ASAP. Berries and caramel? Stop it.
This looks too beautiful to eat. But I would eat it anyway. Yum!
Poor Huck! Allergies are no fun.
And I’ve never had a dutch baby pancake, if you can believe that?! Guess I’ll have to try one because your photos have got my tummy grumbling!
This recipe looks easy for real. I have always wanted to try one of these. I am a true pancake hound. Woof! Woof! Plus you can make them one at a time which is great for those of us who live alone.
Love dutch baby pancakes! Yours looks perfect!
First of all poor Huck! I had a dog with serious ear infection problems growing up, my mom was constantly cleaning them. As for the Dutch Baby, it looks amazing! I’ve made them for my husband a couple of times and he devoured the whole thing by himself, glad I have another recipe to try out!

I don’t know if the ads on the page are covering one of the ingredients or something, but this recipe is obviously missing liquid and maybe some salt. The ingredients list I see is
2 Egg
1/2 cup Flour
1/4 cup Sugar
½ tsp Vanilla
3 Tbsp Butter
It made a thick paste that way. I looked up other recipes and they have milk in them. I wouldn’t recommend using this one unless you see more ingredients.

Hi Rhoda, you’re right I was missing the milk. It’s 1/2 cup. So sorry about that, my fingers must have been typings faster than I could process it. I do hope you try to make these again.
