DIY Margarita Mix and Baja Margarita
Make your own DIY margarita mix, free of preservatives, artificial coloring and additives.Â
There is no better time to kick off Margarita Season than Cinco de Mayo! Who can turn down a frosty glass, line with chunky salt and zesty lime? Ben keeps getting new tequilas as gifts from friends so besides aging all of them in his aging kit, we have a lot of margaritas in our future!
I’m not a fan of uber spicy things, the super spicy stuff is Ben’s job to consume – but on our date night last Friday I went out of my comfort zone with a spicy margarita! Friday was anything but margarita worthy – weather wise – it’s been pouring in Seattle for three days straight, but I wanted to celebrate a week of hard work and time with my favorite human. So I had two!
Hey girl…hey.
The Baja margarita has loads of fresh lime juice, is sweet and really sour, and is loaded with jalapeno and cilantro! What a combination. It was really hard work to test out the perfect at home recipes.
If you’re feeling adventurous tonight – try this margarita immediately! When you add your ice into your margarita glass, muddle – or pound- a couple slices of fresh jalapeno and cilantro into the ice to release the oils and flavors into the drink. Don’t forget to use your Homemade DIY Margarita mix!
Happy Cinco de Mayo, party people! Celebrate safely!
