Cinnamon Pear Muffins
Cinnamon Pear Muffins are the perfect, on the go, start to your day!
Dish Count :: 2 Mixing Bowls, 1 Muffin Tin

It’s a long established fact that I am *that* dog mom. It’s one of those quirks I have accepted. Like a crazy cat lady, who wears the proud badge of cat fuzz on all her articles of clothing, Huck‘s blonde hair is everywhere – my yoga pants, every blanket in the house, and my car. And for 8 years that has been the case…
From saying “we are not letting the dog on the couch!”, to welcoming him up there every time he asks with his sad seal eyes, and head resting on the couch. And letting him sit in the back seat of the car, when we got a Subaru for the sole reason that “we can put him in the back!”, but no, that’s too far away from his people…
And let’s not forget that he gets at least one bite or crumb of whatever it is we are eating… I’m annoyed with myself right now.

We are suckers for this 90 pound, allergic riddled, hip dysplasia afflicted mutt, who has made our lives truly something special. Happy 8th birthday to our favorite furry kid, Huck!
When Ben and I started dating, Huck was my constant road trip partner, back and forth across Washington, from Seattle to Pullman, 5 hour drives each way to see our favorite human. Huck was just a puppy when Ben came on the scene, and he loved Ben from the start. Well, maybe he resented him a little, he was the new guy taking away mom’s time – but now, you can’t beat seeing that dog light up when his “Big Hooman” walks through the door. Albeit, slowly when he is cuddling with me on the couch when Ben comes in.
There have been road trips, to Idaho, Montana, and all over the state, with Huck in tow. He’s our constant companion, best friend, and my trusted kitchen mop.

With all those little quirks about him, and medical issues to boot, you will never see a finer dog, nor a more happy hooman that calls him “mine”.

All I want this morning, they look soooo good!
I love using pears in baked goods, tasty and keeps them moist too!
Aww. What a lovely post about Huck. 🙂 I’ve never had a dog but desperately want a golden retriever. His name shall be Professor Buddy. 😀
And these muffins look fantastic!
These muffins are perfection!
I don’t know why I don’t bake with pears more often, these muffins look like perfection!!
Awww Happy Birthday Huck! Our dog was the same way. We said we’d never let her sleep in our bed. Yet there she is every night seemingly taking up the whole king sized bed. Which is odd considering she’s a 7 pound dachshund
These look so yummy! I love the combination of flavors…pears are definitely under-used!
Aww! Happy Birthday to Huck! I would be the exact same way if I had a dog so I totally understand haha. These muffins look really delicious, I love the cinnamon and pear combo!
Dishes are the most annoying… I love it when you don’t need many to make something this special!
What a sweet post … I can just picture his eyes lighting up. And these muffins look so tasty too.
Yay! Happy Birthday, Huck! Love this post, Megan! We have an American Eskimo and his hair is EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME. I seriously vacuum every single day of my life, but it’s totally worth it … P.S. I’ll take 12 of these muffins please and thank you!
All I want for breakfast <3
Happy Birthday, Huck! And beautiful muffins, Megan!
Thanks so much, Brenda!!
I make muffins all the time, big, small ,sweet. saulty, but just reading your recipe I realised I never made any with pears! And when I think of it that sounds as a great idea
Happy birthday to Huck! I’m a “crazy dog lady,” too! Do all the same things — dog on the couch, too many bites of human food, etc., etc. 😀 Wouldn’t have it any other way! These are beautiful muffins! I looove the pear!
These are just too perfect, Megan! I love the idea of cinnamon and pear together in one fluffy muffin. Pinning!
You mention eggs , how many they look yummy
You said to mix egg, vanilla and mil. But how many eggs and how much vanilla?? Cant find it anywhere !!! Thank you!!
How many eggs? How much vanilla?
Sorry Tab, I must have been typing too fast! I’ll edit the recipe now!
Your recipe ingredients list vegetable oil but then doesn’t say when to add it. Help!
So sorry!! Add it in with the eggs and whisk to combine. I’ll update the recipe. 🙂
Just FYI the vegie oil it isn’t updated.
Oh goodness, so sorry my mind got away from me!! It is now!
these are amazing!
I used whole flour and it was still so good! (I did get a little confused when the recipe said add egg instead of eggs and didn’t mention the oil) thank you for the recipe!
Thank you for the recipe! My daughter is sensitive to dairy and I used cashew milk instead. It was amazing!
I’m so so pleased that you and your daughter liked these! I’m glad they were easy to adapt for her dietary needs!
Went to Hood River Oregon fruit loop. Last weekend. I. Made these muffins with my freshly harvested pears. The muffin was very good, light and flavorful, the pears shined through. My husband said, “I hope you saved that recipe.”
Thank you
I’m so pleased they were a hit Patricia!! Thank you so much!
Very good! We put a light milk/vanilla/icing sugar glaze on them (not necessary). One thing to note is they don’t come out of paper liners well. We used silicone and paper liners and the paper sticks a bit. I would definitely make these again though!
Oh that’s a great note, thank you Becky!!
Cinnamon and Peaches, what a good idea for a muffin! Thanks for sharing, can’t wait to try it!
These are the best muffins I have ever had in my life, hands down. And everyone I’ve given them to has absolutely loved them as well, even when they “aren’t muffin people” or “don’t like sweets”. I really needed to use up some pears so I tried it with two pears instead of one; they were AMAZING but did make too much batter and were deliciously but unnecessarily moist. So I tried it with 80% of the milk and oil, and with 1.5 pears. It made the perfect amount of batter and they were still almost too moist, probably because the pears were so wet from being uber-ripe which is why I needed to use them up. Anyway, at this point I feel like I can’t mess these up, haha… They are just perfection, absolutely amazing. Thank you so so so much!
Delicious! Does this recipe work well with apricots?
★★★★★
Oh I bet apricots would be delightful!
