Yes, the playoffs are upon us – and that is when we all give up on the resolutions we made two weeks ago to eat better this year. Well, if ever there was a reason to give up a diet, even temporarily, carbs and football are a pretty good reason.
This is first thing on my to make list when I hit my last few days on Whole30… as I count down the days…

Bacon Cheddar Loaf
- Prep Time: 10 Minutes
- Cook Time: 20 Minutes

Ingredients
- 1 16 ounce loaf baguette-style French bread or French loaf
- 1/2 8 ounce package shredded sharp cheddar cheese (1 cup)
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/3 cup cooked bacon pieces
- 2 medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup)
- 2 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using a serrated knife, cut the bread crosswise, into approximately 1 inch slices, but don’t cut through the bottom side of the crust.
- In a bowl, mix together the cheese, butter, bacon, green onions, mustard, and lemon juice. Spread that between the slices of the bread. Wrap the loaf in foil.
- Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the bread has warmed through.

Aint that the truth!!! Two weeks into the clean eating month and I’m thinking about football food. And, then just a couple of weeks after Super Bowl we’ll be having a chocolate fest for Valentine’s Day. Ah well…I’m ready to blow it all for this deliciousness!
