  • Category: appetizer
  • Method: Oven
  • Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 16 ounce loaf baguette-style French bread or French loaf
  • 1/2 8 ounce package shredded sharp cheddar cheese (1 cup)
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup cooked bacon pieces
  • 2 medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup)
  • 2 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using a serrated knife, cut the bread crosswise, into approximately 1 inch slices, but don’t cut through the bottom side of the crust.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the cheese, butter, bacon, green onions, mustard, and lemon juice. Spread that between the slices of the bread. Wrap the loaf in foil.
  3. Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the bread has warmed through.
