Dish Count :: 1 Skillet, 1 Grill

I have waited ALL YEAR For this!! It’s Hot Dog Week 2015, people – let’s get pumped! I’m so excited I hashtagged this event. Again. If you’re surprised by that, you’re obviously new here. WELCOME!

And if you are new to this year event, it started three years ago, over my love of summer, probably baseball, warm weather and some other BS that I can’t think of right now. Truthfully, I just love hot dogs. They’re the most versatile of tubular meats and they should be celebrated. Top them with whatever you want, they’re always a hit. And this week I have a few more up my sleeve to re-inspire you from the traditional ketchup and mustard faire. Join me!
A couple of weeks ago Ben and I finally got out of town to head east to the other side of the mountains, away from Seattle, and we hit up the local burger joint, right off the interstate that no one stops at any more passing it for next largest town, filled with chotskis and sorely in need of an update, but with a menu as long as a RiteAid receipt. On it was their Cowboy Burger, and I scored one of them for myself and something more basic for Ben. We took them down by the river and ate up with Huck right next to us, trying to scam a fry or slurp of milkshake.

Now THAT is how Memorial Day should be. I live in the UK where frozen onion rings are few and far between but this alone would make the search worth it! Cheers!
If you can’t find frozen onion rings – I have a friend that has made truly scrumptious panko coated onion rings that would be perfect here!! Try her site for her Guinness Onion Rings, I’ve made them and they are delicious! http://www.climbinggriermountain.com/2014/03/oven-fried-guinness-onion-rings-with-stout-gravy.html
