Aged Brandy Apple Cider Hot Toddy
Warm up from that winter chill with this aged brandy apple cider hot toddy! Add a little fruit aged brandy to your cider for a festive treat!
Dish Count :: 1 Sauce Pan, 1 Mason Jar

Now you guys know all about the family brandied fruit cake. And that this fruit cake is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. If by “like nothing you’ve ever seen before”, I mean, it’s boozy, not technicolor, and it takes a month to age. And yes, it is still good to eat after that long. It’s that boozy. But one of the extra wonderful, and sinful, by products of that fruit cake making is the aged fruity brandy that happens once you soak the dried fruit in all that booze!! The aged brandy becomes syrupy, sweet, and oh so luscious.
And it’s just what you need for sipping on before you go looking at Christmas lights… or to give your grandma, so she spills all her Christmas cookie secrets. Use it for good, or evil. The choice is up to you.

The brandy aged fruit in the family fruit cake is a mix of plums, apples, currants, raisins, and more. My bonus dad adds dried mangos to his, and that brandy takes on a whole new level of yum. So grab a mason jar, add in your fruit and pour a more than generous helping over the top of your dried fruit. Seal the jar and let it rest, shaking it up, for at least two days. The longer it sits, the better. But two days is a real sweet spot for aging if you just literally can’t even wait any more.

And we understand how enticing it is.
Whether you sip it straight, or add it to this aged brandy apple cider hot toddy, it’s absolutely divine, and so festive. Bust out those ugly Christmas sweaters friends, we’re gonna get lit like the Christmas tree!

And don’t forget the fruit cake! There is still time to make this family Christmas tradition!

Ok, this is absolutely the best apple cider recipe that I have made. So worth waiting for the fruit to macerate in the brandy. Yum! We are waiting on the blizzard to get here and this is just what we needed!
P.S. – I used Honeycrisp Apple cider – really good!
