It’s a secret a year in the making, but tune in to see me on Next Level Chef with Gordon Ramsay!
To say “finally”, might be the understatement of the century. Because I have been keeping this secret for OVER A YEAR! And let me tell you, it’s been the hardest secret I have ever had to keep. And what a whirlwind it has been already.

Knowing where to begin my story on this whole journey is a bit hard to explain. It started with an email in April of 2023. One little ping of my phone and my life changed forever. I honestly thought it was a joke at first, another email pitching some ridiculous thing, but over the 15 years I have been blogging, this one made me pause and so I responded. The next day I had a phone call with a casting agent. The day after that, a video call with a producer. The day after that, my initial video interview was complete and ready to sent to the network.
And so it began, so fast and so slow all at once.
In the first three seasons of the show, there has been incredible talent making waves in the food space, both in the restaurant world, in social media, and more! Whether that is the inagural winner Chef Pyet, who continues to focus on the intersection of her culture and food, is astounding. Tucker just opened her first restaurant, and Gabi is absolutely serving on social media! And those are just the season winner’s!
Tini is a bonafide phenom on social media, with her ultra-viral mac and cheese, Mada has become a one man social media force. And so much more. Everyone who has graced those kitchens has made a positive impact. It’s a lofty group every season, but I know that you haven’t seen ANYTHING yet from Season 4 cast!
When Does Season 4 of Next Level Chef Air?
But here we are, now January 2025 and I can finally share that your girl is a member of the cast of Fox’s Next Level Chef with Gordon Ramsay. YES, GORDON FREAKING RAMSAY!
There are still moments that make me believe it’s all a fever dream, but after the last year and a half of secrets, the adventure of a lifetime, and making friends that I now consider to be family, I can confirm it’s all real, it happened, and I am the happiest girl alive.
Tune in to see me and 23 other talented chefs try to win the title of Next Level Chef on Thursdays at 8PM, on FOX.
The premiere is February 13th at 8pm/PST. It will also stream next day on Hulu.

How Did You Get Chosen?
Well, I went through the same application process and vetting that everyone does. Meetings, video calls, recordings, interviews, background checks, etc. It’s a PROCESS. But if you’re going on national television, they want to make sure you’re the right one for the job.
What’s it like to film a TV reality cooking show?
Exhilarating. Exhausting. Life changing. Gratifying, fulfilling, overwhelming, and a daily emotional rollercoaster! On any given day you can feel the full range of emotions and I loved every minute of it. Maybe not the jet lag, but hey, thems the breaks!
Filming is six days a week for Next level Chef, and the days are LONG. So there isn’t much time to go exploring around Ireland. I joke that I saw three things in Ireland – the hotel, the studio, and the local grocery store. And that really does about sum it up. We had a dedicated and wonderful welfare team making sure that we were safe and sane the entire time we were filming. Bless them.
When you have 24 people in the thick of it together, we joke that we are trauma bonded for life. Your mettle is tested daily, and you rely on one another so deeply, in front of the cameras and off camera. There is never a day since we have filmed that we have not talked.
Did You Make Friends With The Cast?
When 24 people, 27 if you count the alternates who don’t make the screen, are thrown together into a room it’s a a grab bag of how things will go. Will personalities clash, will there be fights, will you find a friend or two? I found 26 new friends that I now consider family.
We literally come from across the country, all live vastly different lives, and are at wildly different stages in life and our careers – but to come out of this as not only friends but family – is a joy I could not be more grateful for.
Our group chat is lit.
But over this last year, we have celebrated one another’s successes, victories, heartaches, and more. We have forged a bond that I am every so thankful for every single day. And the premiere hasn’t even happened yet!
What team do you end up on?

I can’t tell you that, you need to watch the show! But there is so much behind the scenes stuff to share that will never make the cut, that once my time on the show ends, I’ll be spilling the beans! So stay tuned.

New Hardcover Edition of Cast Iron Gourmet
Now it all might make sense as to why I was rushing to reprint my debut cookbook ahead of the show premiere. If you have kept up through Instagram, you found out that just before Christmas my former cookbook publisher discontinued printing and selling my book. But with this indescribable journey ahead of me, I made the ultimate pivot and republished Cast Iron Gourmet as a self published hardcover book!
It is even better than the original, with brand new recipes included that are hands down favorites from my cast iron journey here on Homemade Home.

As we go through the season, I will be recreating my favorite dishes, and sharing my journey with you. But until then, there is always more to try and I hope you will join me on this incredible cooking journey and share your favorite Homemade Home favorites with those you love.

Wow! So exciting! I think I will subscribe to Hulu again just to watch this show.
I loved Piet’s season, and I can’t wait to see yours. Please do share behind the scenes info when you can–we’ll be waiting with bated breath!
Would love to get a copy of your cookbook but can’t find any. They are all ebooks, but would LOVE a real book. Have any ideas where I can get one?
