  • 2 cups Flour
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter, chilled and cubed
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Butter, melted
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 3 cups grated Apples
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 cups Water

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add in the 1/4 cup of the chilled butter, and cut it into the flour until it becomes a sand-like texture. Add in the milk and stir until a dough forms.

On a floured surface, roll out the dough into an oblong sheet, about 1/4″ thick, and brush it with the melted butter.

In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Cover the dough with the grated apples and sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar on top. Roll the dough out jelly rolls/cinnamon rolls style, and cut it into 1 1/2″ thick slices and place them cut side down into a 9×13 inch baking dish.

In a small sauce pan, create a simple syrup with the remaining 1 cup sugar and 2 cups of water. when the sugar has completely dissolved, gently pour the syrup around the rolls.

Bake the rolls about 40 minutes, or until they have enlarged to fill the whole pan. remove from the oven and serve warm with cream poured over the top or a scoop of ice cream.
